After months of intensive planning, the Table Tennis event at the World Police & Fire Games held in Belfast recently was a major success – a top class event deliverd and some notable success for the Irish squad.
Chief among the medal winners was Jay McAllister, who claimed a bronze in the Grand Master Singles and a Gold in the Grand Master Doubles – a fantastic achievement for Jay considering he was also on duty as an Umpire over the course of the event.
Also amongst the medals was Louise Long, who in recent times has become more known for her coaching prowess as a National Team coach – she showed that she still has medal winning ability by claiming two bronze medals – in Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
Irish tournament regular Adrian Flynn also registered two medals, abronze and a silver in the B Division events.
Congratulations to all on an excellent event and of course to the Irish medal winners. Thanks to Con O’Ceadaigh for the photo of medal winner Louise Long.
