Women in Sport Inclusive Weekend!

What a successful weekend for Women in Sport in table tennis, as such a variety of women got involved!

On Friday, we teamed up with U3A Foyle at their Gransha building for a fun-filled Bat & Chat session.  14 Bat and Chatters from the greater Derry area including ladies from the local GP referral group who joined us for a fun and engaging day. Big thanks to our leaders Louise McCarron and Donna Ryan for organising and assisting with running the event and to Christine at U3A Foyle for providing the venue and support. We are hoping to set up regular WIS Bat and Chat sessions in the area to satisfy the expanding interest and this was a great start.

On Sunday, in cooperation with IWA, we delivered a PingPong Art session at Navan Arch Club. For some girls, table tennis was not new and they fearlessly took on the challenges, showed their skills while other girls demonstrated how quickly they can adopt a new sport, and above all, a lot of laughter was in the hall. Well done girls! Big thanks to our volunteers, leaders Mary and Ros at Navan Arch Club in providing the venue and assisting with delivering this fun event.

Such amazing work by our Women in Sport as we look to continue  to #Accelerateaction. Thanks to everyone who takes part in the growth as a player, coach, volunteer and of course our allies!!
