Umpire Ambassador Club Visit Programme
Table Tennis Ireland is launching a new Umpire Ambassador Club Visit Programme, and we would love your club to be involved.
These free, practical visits are designed to help your players, coaches, and volunteers feel more confident about rules, serving technique, and match management — creating a better playing experience for everyone.
Why we’re doing this
Clubs told us they want:
- Clearer rules education
- Better serving technique understanding
- Less confusion during matches
- More confident volunteers
This programme responds directly to these needs and aligns with TTI’s 2026–2028 Technical Officials Development Plan to rebuild the umpiring workforce and enhance competition quality.
What your club gets
- Rule & Match Education
Short, practical demonstrations of common rule misunderstandings and match scenarios. - Serving Workshop
Correct serving technique explained anddemonstrated — the biggest area of match confusion.
- Player & Coach Q&A
A safe, supportive space to ask questions. - Information on Development Pathways
Information for any player, parent or volunteer interested in becoming an umpire — including new pathways and mentoring support.
What we ask from the club
- Provide 45–60 minutes during a training session
- A table available for demos
- Encourage coaches and players to attend
- Optional: identify members who may be interested in officiating
