The Table Tennis Ireland AGM took place this past weekend, to celebrate success, review the year’s developments, and look ahead with shared purpose.
A reminder that the full Annual Report is available digitally for members to view on the website.
A massive thank you to all attendees and a special thank you to Dilyara Boncheva and Marie Power, who are stepping down from the Board of Directors, for their valuable contributions and service. Sanjeev Shelar, Greg Yarnall, Arnold Morgan and Pat McCloughan will continue their roles as directors. We are also pleased to announce our five new directors:
- Stephen Gray, a retired solicitor and active league player introduced to the sport through Bat & Chat
- Jennifer Thompson, a retired senior health agency manager, coach developer, and former Irish International
- Sugandha Parma, a governance, risk management, and AI specialist and director at the Centre for Gender and Politics
- Louise McCarron, a retired senior training manager with expertise in integrity and diversity, returning to the sport after playing as a junior
- Karine Adobet, a senior application support analyst with strong finance and payroll experience.
We look forward to the continued growth and leadership that these individuals will bring to our organisation.
At the recent meeting, outgoing President Patricia Hunter was warmly acknowledged and thanked by the Chair on behalf of the Board, staff, and members for her dedicated service to Table Tennis Ireland. As a token of appreciation, she was presented with a gift from all at Table Tennis Ireland. In recognition of her outstanding contribution, Mrs. Hunter was awarded Honorary Life Membership, a tribute to her lasting legacy. Following the presentation, she addressed the meeting, expressing her thanks with characteristic warmth and humility.
We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Strong as the new President, and we look forward to his contribution over the next two years.
