Table Tennis Ireland is excited to announce the Irish National Closed Championships 2025, taking place at South Lakes Leisure Centre, Craigavon. This prestigious Class 1 Irish Ranking Tournament will showcase the best talent in the country across multiple categories.

Eligibility Criteria

To compete in the National Closed Championships, players must:
✔ Be affiliated to Table Tennis Ireland and in good standing.
✔ Hold an Irish passport OR a British passport from Northern Ireland and/or
✔ Be born on the island of Ireland and/or
✔ Hold proof of residence for 6 years or longer.

Players must provide proof of eligibility if requested by the Tournament Referee.


Tournament Format & Regulations

Senior Singles Events

  • Group stage to knockout rounds (top two in each group advance).
  • Up to 8 Men’s and 4 Women’s top seeds may be directly placed into knockout rounds.

Junior Events (U19, U15, U13)

  • Groups to knockout rounds.
  • Remaining players enter a Plate Event.
  • Playoffs may be arranged based on entry numbers.

General Regulations

No late entries will be accepted.
No refunds will be issued after entries are processed.
⚠ Players who enter an ineligible event will not receive a refund.
⚠ All competitors must be ready when called to play.
⚠ Players are required to umpire matches.
⚠ Matches are best of 5, except early Plate rounds (best of 3).
Butterfly balls will be used.
⚠ All competitors must adhere to Table Tennis Ireland & ITTF rules.

📢 Draws & Match Schedules will be posted on the Table Tennis Ireland website two days before the tournament. Players and coaches should verify event entries.

By entering this event, participants agree that photos and videos (including live streaming) taken on behalf of Table Tennis Ireland may be used for promotional purposes unless an objection is submitted in advance of the competition by Friday, the 21st of March 2025.


Cancellation & Liability

Table Tennis Ireland reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the event at any time. In the event of cancellation, entry fees will be refunded, but Table Tennis Ireland is not responsible for any other costs, including travel or accommodation expenses.
