Sports Assistant – Table Tennis

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

On your feet, in the action — keeping the Games moving! As a Sports Assistant you’ll be a vital part of the table tennis competition team. Depending on where you’re needed, you could be involved in any of the following areas:

  SPORTS INFO DESK

The check-in point for Head Coaches and a key link between coaches and the Competition Team throughout the event.

FIELD OF PLAY & EQUIPMENT

Set up the competition area and equipment, and ensure the right athletes are on the field while monitoring access.

  RUNNER

Carry results paperwork between the GMS station and the awards station, keeping information flowing smoothly.

 STAGING

Ensure a smooth flow of athletes to and from the staging area so the competition stays on schedule.

Please note: this is an active role and you will be on your feet for most of the day — so wear comfortable shoes and bring your energy!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Garda Vetting — required and not transferrable from another organisation. Full instructions will be provided when you sign up.
  • Safeguarding [SG1] — if you already hold a valid cert issued via Sport Ireland or Sport NI, you can upload it directly. If not, Special Olympics Ireland offers a free virtual training session with a volunteer tutor.
