As we step into 2026, I want to take a moment to thank every player, volunteer, coach, official, club, partner and supporter who contributed to another important year for Table Tennis Ireland.
2025 was a year of real progress.
We saw continued growth in participation, stronger engagement at club level, expanding disability and inclusion programmes, improved governance structures, and a renewed focus on para performance pathways. We strengthened partnerships with Sport Ireland, Paralympics Ireland, the Olympic Federation of Ireland, local sports partnerships, schools, communities and corporate supporters. Most importantly, we continued to see table tennis reaching new people in new places — showing communities in Ireland what our sport can do for the wider community.
None of this happened by accident. It happened because of commitment, collaboration and belief in what table tennis can be in Ireland.
As we look to 2026, our ambition is clear.
We will continue to drive our strategy with a strong focus on:
- Clubs as the heartbeat of our sport
- Participation and inclusion for all abilities, ages and backgrounds
- Performance pathways that are athlete-centred, transparent and sustainable
- Governance and professionalism that reflects the standards our members deserve
- Partnerships and innovation that help table tennis grow in modern, relevant ways
2026 is about building momentum — not starting again, but moving forward with confidence, honesty and purpose.
We won’t get everything right. But we will stay open, we will keep learning, and we will keep putting the sport and its people first.
Table tennis in Ireland has a very bright future. I truly believe that.
