Launch of the Table Tennis Ireland Club Development Handbook

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Table Tennis Ireland Club Development Handbook! This comprehensive guide is designed to support clubs at every stage of their development, providing valuable advice, guidance, and resources to help grow the sport of table tennis across Ireland.

The Club Development Handbook aligns with the Table Tennis Ireland (TTI) Strategic Plan 2022-2028, which aims to foster the growth of table tennis through a robust network of clubs. The handbook serves multiple purposes:

  • Advice and Guidance: Offering practical advice on club management and development.
  • Support: Providing templates and links to encourage club growth.
  • Network: Helping to build a thriving network of table tennis clubs in Ireland.
  • Best Practices: Promoting best practices for starting and running a club.
  • Volunteer Importance: Highlighting the crucial role of volunteers in club operations.
  • Platform for New Clubs: Creating opportunities for the emergence of new clubs.
  • Funding Support: Offering structural and technical support to boost funding chances.

David McNally, CEO of Table Tennis Ireland, emphasises the dynamic nature of the handbook:

“We intend for this Handbook to be constantly evolving and changing, so we welcome any feedback or ideas for how to improve sections of the Handbook. This sport ticks so many boxes in terms of inclusion, participation, and performance. I am sure it can see significant growth over the next few years.”

Arnold Morgan, Chair of Table Tennis Ireland, highlights the strategic importance of the handbook:

“The Club Development Handbook is a key component of our strategic plan. It provides clubs with the tools and resources they need to thrive and grow, ensuring that table tennis continues to develop and flourish across Ireland.”

The Club Development Handbook is a dynamic, live document that will be reviewed annually and updated to meet the evolving needs of clubs and the environment in which they operate. We encourage all clubs to contribute to this ongoing process by providing feedback and suggestions.

To assist clubs in their development journey, Community and Club Development Officers are available in each province. These officers are dedicated to enhancing community engagement, developing table tennis clubs, and promoting inclusivity and diversity within the sport. They can provide personalised support and guidance tailored to the specific needs of your club.
