Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership have organised a Vision Sports Awareness Training. Tutored by Vision Sports Ireland, this Vision Sports Awareness Training is designed to educate coaches, volunteers and teachers on Vision Impairment and how small adaptations to sport and physical activity sessions can make a huge difference to the experience of the participant with a vision impairment.

Over the 1.5 hours, attendees will learn about the various types of Vision Impairment, basic techniques of sighted guide training and the importance of description and colour contrast when delivering a session.

Examples will be presented of various Blind and Vision Impaired sports and adapted equipment available. Attendees will also be informed of the various programmes available through Vision Sports Ireland. Vision Sports Awareness Training has been endorsed by Sport Ireland Coaching.

This course is suitable for people over the age of 16 years.

This course offers skills and ideas for basic table tennis. No table tennis background is required. You can kick start your table tennis coaching career with our fantastic activator’s award course!

This coaching course is a fun and practical based session, delivered over one session of 3 hours.

Activator Award provides an opportunity for networking and engagement among candidates. The candidates will develop new skills through practical and interactive activities.

You do not need to have a background in playing table tennis. This course is a fun and enjoyable course suitable for all ages and abilities, table tennis is a sport for all!

Each candidate will receive a coaching booklet as part of resources to assist with coaching following the completion of the course.

Coaches, ages 18+, 1 hour, understanding youth mental health, promoting and supporting youth mental health, recognising the value and importance of “one good adult/coach”, information on Jigsaw services. 

This workshop will be online via zoom, hosted by Jigsaw staff. Gain an insight how to coach with mental health awareness.

A 3 hour workshop aimed at supporting and educating coaches to specificities of teenage girls and sport.

Delivered in an interactive format, the workshop offers opportunities for experience sharing while equipping coaches with best practice solutions they can adapt to their own setting.
