TTU COACH DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY LED BY RYAN JENKINS, FORMER WELSH INTERNATIONAL PLAYER, COMMONWEALTH MEDALIST, WELSH NATIONAL AND GB COACH.
Table Tennis Ulster is delighted to offer a fantastic coach development session for our local club and squad coaches on Saturday 9th March 2024 at Lisburn Racquets Club, Lisburn.
The session will be led by Ryan Jenkins who has has a plethora of knowledge of table tennis with a career in the sport spanning many years as a top player (Welsh no.1, 12x Welsh National Champion, Commonwealth Medallist and previously held the world ranking of 175). Ryan also has many years experience as a top coach having held national coaching positions with Wales, England and GB.
The event is Free of Charge to Coaches who are affiliated to Table Tennis Ireland (refreshments including lunch will be provided).
Morning Session : 10am – 1.30pm (lunch included)
The morning will incorporate a dedicated coach development session led by Ryan focusing on areas below:
10:00-10:50 Coaching Young Players & Technique
What should coaches be focusing on in training sessions to maximise improvement for players
11:00-11:50 Session Content & Multiball
How to get the best out of your session, including multiball
12:00-12:50 Taking players to the next level & The International Scene
1:00-1:30 Open session
Coaches will have the opportunity to ask advice from Ryan
Afternoon Session: 2.30pm – 6pm
Coaches are invited to spend the afternoon (all or part) observing the Irish National Squad who are have a training session at Lisburn Racquets led by Ryan.
Coaches will be able to observe Ryan leading the squad and participate as appropriate as players prepare for key events including later in March – the National Championships
