Her Moves

Her Moves is a Sport Ireland initiative designed to inspire and support more teenage girls to be active — building confidence and helping girls find physical activity that feels right for them. This programme focuses on participation, confidence and long-term engagement in sport.

Ping Pong Art

Fun, energetic and creative programme for teenage girls.

Ping Pong Art blends table tennis with creativity to get girls moving, laughing and connecting in a vibrant, confidence-boosting environment.

Delivered in collaboration with schools and Local Sports Partnerships, sessions engage large groups of teenage girls through upbeat, social and confidence-building activities.

Glow with PingPong

Where Movement Glows, and Girls Shine!

Glow with PingPong, designed specifically for girls aged 11-18, is an exciting new initiative launched in March 2026. The programme blends table tennis and dance in a glow-in-the-dark environment to create a fun, creative and socially engaging experience that encourages girls to be active in a way that feels fresh, expressive and confidence-building.

Programme Aims

  • Increase physical activity levels among teenage girls
  • Build confidence through skill development and creative expression
  • Provide a welcoming, social environment that feels different from traditional sport
  • Introduce table tennis in a fun, accessible, low-pressure format
  • Encourage teamwork, creativity and positive peer interaction

What Participants Learn

  • Basic table tennis skills – grip, stance, bat and ball control
  • Hand-eye coordination – developed through fun activities
  • Footwork and movement – introduced in a fun, non-technical way
  • Creative dance integration – combining dance with table tennis movements
  • Teamwork and performance skills – culminating in a choreographed routine

Sessions take place in a dark setting using UV lights, adding excitement and novelty that enhances engagement – making sessions feel fresh, party-like and different from traditional sport.

Programme Format

The delivery model is flexible, based on availability of venue and resources:

  • One-off taster session – 1.5 hours
  • Extended 4-week programme – total of 6 hours

Both formats end with participant-choreographed routines blending dance and table tennis movements. Teams perform and a prize is awarded to the winning group – a great motivator for teens.

Current Momentum

Interest is already strong, with many Local Sports Partnerships signed up. Full rollout is planned for September 2026 – well positioned for the new school year and community programme cycles.

Why It Works

  • Designed around what teenage girls value: fun, friends, creativity and self-expression
  • Removes pressure and competitiveness often associated with sport
  • Creates a party-like atmosphere that feels social and inclusive
  • Encourages girls who may not typically engage in traditional physical activity
