The first Munster Ranking Competition of the 2026/27 season delivered a fantastic day of table tennis, bringing together players from across the province for a day of high-quality competition and sportsmanship.
Strong performances were delivered across all age groups and categories, highlighting the depth of talent developing within Munster clubs and the commitment of players, coaches and volunteers who continue to support the sport at local level. Alongside excellent performances and competitive matches throughout the day, one of the standout successes was the strong participation in the Women’s Veteran competition. The growth in female entries is an extremely positive development for the sport and demonstrates opportunities are increasing for women and girls to engage in competitive table tennis at all levels Congratulations to all competitors, medal winners, coaches, officials and volunteers, and in particular to the host club and organisers whose efforts ensured a successful start to the ranking season.

The increasing number of female players taking part in this event encourages even greater female participation across all competitions nationwide. Table Tennis Ireland welcomes players of all ages and abilities, and we hope to see more women and girls entering ranking events, leagues and championships throughout the country in the months ahead
