Board Positions with Table Tennis Ireland

Table Tennis Ireland is the National Governing Body for Table Tennis within the 4 individual provinces of Ireland, and we’re responsible for developing and growing the sport. We represent the interests of our members by promoting, co-ordinating, administering, operating and marketing our sport. We are looking to bring new people onto the Board of Directors to monitor and develop the
Strategic Plan to maximise the sport’s impact as a participation sport. There is a huge amount of
unlocked potential for a sport that is not weather dependent, can be played by all ages, abilities
and socio-economic backgrounds. We are funded by Sport Ireland, Sport Northern Ireland and Paralympics Ireland.

You could be a really important part of what can be a growth sport. We have a growing staff
base to help deliver on the Strategy and we are looking forward to exciting times for the
development of Table Tennis in Ireland.

Following a recent board skills audit, we found that the board could be helped with experience/expertise in three specific areas:

  1. Governance and Legal
  2. Human Resources
  3. Commercial experience (sponsorship, marketing and communications)

We are also looking for a Chairperson and Company Secretary. Please see job descriptions below for each role

organisation to benefit from your knowledge and skills. The board sits around 6-8 times per year
usually via video conferencing with one or two face to face meetings. With a commitment of
maybe one to two days per month. The board positions are voluntary, but we will cover
reasonable expenses.

Expressions of interest would be welcome giving details of your skills and experience. Preferred
candidates will be put forward for election and appointments are for a two-year period.
In the first instance please send expressions of interest to [email protected] with a closing
date for applications of Monday 15th May at 2pm.
