Eighteen teams braved the wet weather yesterday to travel to UCD, Belfield for this year’s All Ireland Secondary Schools Finals. Blackrock College dominated the boy’s events winning gold in all three age categories. The girls event was much more evenly spread with Royal School Cavan winning the U18s, Balla Secondary School, Mayo taking the U15 gold and St. Louis Community School, Mayo going home with the U13 gold. There was lots of real talent on show with many of the competitors already featuring on the ITTA Junior ranking lists. Many thanks to tournament referee Con O’Ceadaigh, Umpire Vivienne Barry and to all who helped ensure the day ran like clockwork.
